Where Gaming Meets The Internet

If you’re older than 21 there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of the company’s videos or its fiercely dedicated fan base, but for hundreds of thousands of Australians — who consume 1.9 million Rooster Teeth videos every month — it’s the biggest thing on the internet.
Tim Biggs - Sydney Morning Herald

Panels @ RTX Sydney

Panel Submissions are open NOW. The submission period will be active until October 15th.

Guardian Information

Guardian Applications will open in October 2016.

Guardians will be chosen by December.

What are Guardians?

Guardians are chosen Rooster Teeth Community members who dedicate their time and skills to help make RTX Sydney an amazing experience for everyone. Guardians provide support for attendees, special guests, Rooster Teeth cast/crew, and each other. Guardians are the customer service and crisis management front line of RTX. Guardians represent RTX, Rooster Teeth, and the RT Community. The RT Community is pretty incredible and we aim to bring the best (and those aspiring to be the best) community representatives into our Guardian ranks.

What makes a Guardian?

We look for applicants willing to do tasks assigned, sporting positive attitudes, patience, strong customer service skills, and a genuine desire to make the RTX experience awesome for everyone. We strive to make the show a safe place for all fans. Successful Guardians must be comfortable in crowds/crowded spaces. They must be able to deal with emergencies with a cool head. They must be willing to work with their team. We have a variety of jobs that range from super exciting to oddly mundane, but all jobs/tasks are important and necessary. We expect everyone to put their full effort into every task. Guardians must be 18+. If you’re turning 18 by the time the show starts you are eligible.

Submission Period

The Guardian application submission period for 2017 will open in October and close in December. You’ll be notified if you’re successful shortly after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is RTX?

A: The Internet. For real. Unlike it’s older sister in Austin this is in Sydney Australia. RTX is a convention hosted by Rooster Teeth and brought to you by Supanova and Hanabee. At RTX we celebrate internet culture and gaming. There are exhibitors, live events on our Gaming Center Stage, panels, activities, and more.

Q: Is there an age limit to RTX?

A: Yes. You have to be under 150 years of age. Sorry great-great-great grandpa! Other than that, no- there is no age limit. Anyone, of any age, can attend! Children 6 and under can get in free with a paying adult. However, please note that RTX does not provide children with supervision, so do not send your kids to the event alone if they cannot take care of themselves.

Q: Why Australia?

A: Thanks to the lovely people at Supanova and Hanabee we’re able to bring our expo down. Australia has some of our biggest fans outside of the US! We can’t wait to come back to Sydney and see everyone.

Q: Are you going to offer discounted hotel rooms?

A: Yes, we will have more information for you in the Location section as soon as possible.

Q: When do tickets go on sale?

A: Tickets go on sale July 7th 2016 at Midday (12:00 PM AEST).

Q: Okay, I ordered badges, now where do I pick them up?

A: All tickets will need to be picked up on-site at RTX with a valid ID and confirmation email.
We’ll let you know more towards February 2017.

Q: When will _____ be announced?

A: Event specifics, such as panel schedule, special guests, night activities, and more are usually announced about a month prior to the event. Sorry it’s not available sooner, but we promise it will be worth it!

Q: Can I be a Guardian at RTX?

A: The Guardian Applications open on October 1st. We’ll talk more then!

Q: What if I'm under 18?

A: Anyone can come to RTX, but if you’re under 18, make sure your parent or guardian is aware that RTX is not responsible for you. Don’t have your parent drop you off with the expectation that you will have someone to watch you.
